Tire experience

I need tires and just curious if anyone has run these two. Yes, I know the Pilot Sports and others are best, but at a price. My driving is only going to be spirited runs on occasion and maybe a an Autocross day or two if that hat ever happens again...hint Dawg. :lol

Just looking to to see if there is any big reason to avoid these. They come at a very good price.

Continental Extreme Contact DW

or

Bridgestone Pole Position

Thanks for your input.

Just so you are aware I've heard Discount does "price match" with online companies. Just take their cost and add shipping, mounting and other charges that the online company gets and Discount will match.

I looked earlier at tire rack at these two tires and their prices were only cheaper until you added in shipping. After that, they are more expensive...but then again no sales tax. But at that point I'd rather keep my money local anyway.

I had Discount order the Conti DWs for me. When I went to get them installed the guy at discount said they do not stay balanced and the Super Sports were only 130 more... If you go with Super Sports I can make a great deal on fronts. ;)

Fronts have just a few hundred miles on them. I want to go with 265s. Go up to Discount and you'll get a better deal than online. I got my set for about 1350 OTD, that was for 305/30 rears and 245/40 fronts with replacement certificates. Shoot me a PM if interested can get you the exact mileage.

FWIW, I'm a big fan of the Nitto NT05. They are low cost, and perform as well as the Michelin PS2's that I ran a few years ago, at least when new. They tend to start going off in performance after 6 months or so, but are always predictable and have smooth break away characteristics. Soon as I have a few bucks, I will be putting a set on my Camaro.

Sam's club has BFG G Force fronts for 155.93 and rears are 220.97 each non-run flat. That is about the cheapest I have seen.

Sean, if your tires aren't bald already, try to make them last until you can afford good ones ...

I'm currently running Bridgestone S04's. Not enough difference than my previous Invos to notice, except a little under $900 vs a little over.

I've gotten really good mileage out of these .... tho I don't track the car ...... I'll continue to use these for the money saved .........

These are the ones I've been leaning towards over the last couple days.

Have you considered the Hankook Evo?? Seems to be a pretty good tire and very reasonable. It isn't a run flat though.

When the time comes I will very much consider them, good looking also.

I have Hankooks on now...non run flats. They are at the end of their life and not good. I don't know what they were like new unfortunately.
