Over at the Corvette Forum there is an opportunity for questions to be answered by Corvette's Chief Engineer Tadge Juechter, there are (5) Questions that are on a poll right now, the one with the most votes will be emailed to him tomorrow for him to reply to. We all know the LS7 Cylinder Head Issue with the Valve Guide Problem, this is the question we need your votes on please!!!

Tadge,
I am writing to you on behalf of all C6 Z06 Owners here at the Corvette Forum. There has been way too many C6 Z06 owners that have suffered LS7 engine failures due to dropped valves. GM claims that there was a manufacturing problem that was subsequently corrected, yet engines and off the shelf replacement cylinder heads produced after that date are also failing at an alarming rate. Loyal owners of even extremely low mileage vehicles are continuing to measure valve-to-guide clearances far beyond service limits and have had their heads reworked at a significant cost. This is evidenced by a cross section of Corvette Forum Members who have had their valve-to-guide clearances measured, 88% of the 208 member cars checked have had out of spec valve guides on C6 Z06's built from 2006 through 2013. With the apparent widespread incidence of excessive valve guide wear among LS7's, does GM know anything regarding the root cause of the issue and/or potential mitigation actions in order for LS7 owners to regain confidence in the platform and to retain loyal GM Customers?
We look forward to your answer on this critical issue.

Great question. I wonder if he will answer it considering who signs his paycheck.

We will not know how he answers it unless we have the most votes, please vote for this question on the forum if you are signed up over there!!!

while it sucks for the 98 to 2000 cars and MIA parts, but the LS7 heads are far more wide spread, damaging (engine loss) and current.

The 98 to 2000 cars will be submitted the following Sunday, it's not out of the race if it loses today, just has to wait a week.

Thanks for voting!!

He's not going to shoot himself in the foot, this question will be answered with the GM legal-ese or "what problem?". I think it's a complete waste of a question but I voted regardless just to help

I'm interested in the C5 issues, whole slew of cars out there being driven or about to be driven without ABS due to no EBCM's and a bunch about to hit the scrap heap due to no replacement ECM's. 97 - 00 Corvette about to become the new C4...........(sorry Larry, only analogy I could think of :lol )

Well the C5 issue is leading the votes today, no big deal as the LS7 question will most likely be sent out the following weekend. I think both items are absurd to not have parts for C5's and LS7 engines blowing up due to dropped valves, pick your poison I guess.

Gave you a vote, only because the C5 is gone and well... I no longer have to deal with that. I can tell you when I buy a new Vette if it's a C5 it will be an 01+

That's what all of us thought as well, but the C5 guys came out in force and stacked up the votes. I have already fixed my heads, was trying to help others if GM would accept responsibility and actually do something about it - which I highly doubt they ever will.

Doubt we'll get anything different from the official release, but interested to see as I haven't modded mine yet at 43k miles.

We won the vote this week, so the question was emailed to Tadge on the LS7 Head Issue, will be very interested in his reply.

The reply.

What is this valve guide problem you speak of ?

We at GM haven't heard anything about this. I'll have to speak to our engineering department and get back to you.

What valve problem? This is the first time we have heard of it. If their reply is BS, I will never buy another GM product again.
