Unreal
Landed up with a really bad dental experience, and scam place. Looking for advice/options on who/how to report this to? ADA? State attorney general? Basically went to a dentist this week, first time for a cleaning, got there, they did x-rays, then refused to do a cleaning, and spent 30 minutes trying to sell me special treatments, braces, gum rejuvenation, etc that insurance won't cover. When I said I just wanted a cleaning they said they won't do it unless I buy a package for my whole mouth at a big cost. I've never had a single other dentist tell me I need braces/etc so I wasn't buying it. Looked into this place and found a history of scams/etc. Telling people they need crows/work then when they get a second opinion turns out nothing wrong with them. They told me I had 3 cavities yet when I went to a different dentist the next day, mouth was perfect. Got screwed since my insurance only covers 1 set of x-rays a year, they did them, then refused to do any of the services. New dentist called to get them, they told them to screw off. I called, they told me only if I come in and pay them some stupid high amount for them, even though insurance is paying for them. So they won't release my x-rays without me double paying for them. This place needs to be shut down. So any advice?

Unreal
Already talked with insurance company. They need to wait to see if they are billed for any services I didn't receive, but they didn't care about anything else.

Chameleon
The board that licenses dentists has limited authority, mostly focused on improper patient care. So, if you come up empty at the Dental Board you might contact the state attorney general's office, they have an area that deals with scams and consumer fraud. https://www.azag.gov/consumer/home

Unreal
Other than that, BBB, Google, and Yelp reviews. Should have checked those before I went, they have very low ratings on Yelp, tons of people reporting the same issues. Recommending unneeded care. One guy got a quote for $5k+ saying he needed several crowns repaired/etc, went back to his normal dentist in Chicago and not a single thing wrong.
