3rd Annual "Escort the Kids to Camp" Event - Sunday July 20

Hey guys, excuse me for spouting off, but this is EMBARRISING!! For the last two years we have had over 20 cars participate in this great event. Now I can't believe that less than 10 of us are willing to donate the time and gas to help support these deserving kids!! My wife and I have done this both years and had a great time. You know it has to be something special if I can get my wife to go! Everyone who has done it in the past enjoyed it; but more importantly, it shows the KIDS THAT WE SUPPORT THEM!!! This event is no longer sponsored by the Cancer Society and if we show up with only a few cars, we are telling the kids that we no longer support them either. Don't let that happen!!! Let's get at least 20 cars.

Can someone update the list

I think Dale (the original poster) is the only one that can.

Ray: I sent you 2 PMs. I hope to get a close-to-final count later in the week.

Can someone update the list

Karl: Update is done, and I'll keep checking daily.

Looks like Deborah and I will be able to make it again this year, we have been to the previos two drives,

Come on people there should be at least 50 cars going.

If you have had any family members go through Chemo, you know things like this helps them have something good for them to take there minds off of the bad times.

Question: Should we invite other car clubs & enthusiast groups or are we going to get enough ACEholes engaged to make this another memorable event for the kids and cruisers?

:confused

Hi Dale, I got you messages. I did get an email answer from Barbara yesterday and she has about 70 kids confirmed for now, but not sure if there will be one or two buses. Any extra Hot Wheels or other type would be awesome. Ralph and I have collected about 70 + so far.

Ralph apparently has not signed up on ACE so but he will go coming up in his yellow Z06 and a guest as well. Thx, Ray

My vote is Corvettes and Vipers, maybe a few Camaros. At least the Viper owners can pretend they're driving Vettes!! :laughing gut bustin::laughing gut bustin::laughing gut bustin::laughing gut bustin::laughing gut bustin::laughing gut bustin: But no FORDS!! :crayon:

Its probably too late to invite other clubs in any event. We just need to get the ACEholes to support the kids!!!

I agree with Larry. Let's just get our members to step up for a worthy cause. I can't think of a better way to spend a Sunday than showing these kids that we care.

I have a friend whose son goes to the camp and I've heard on a personal level how much they appreciate our doing this.

Don't think it's too late. Even if you hadn't planned to but wake up Sunday looking for something to do come on out!

I've noticed the last couple of events I posted I got a less than enthusiastic response,

I got ten commitments on the forum. Day of the event 20 ACEholes showed up!

I was glad they showed up but when sitting in front of the computer wandering,

is this event is going to go off It's very stressful,

"Should I cancel, should I set it up for an other day or is no one interested."

I have a feeling some are waiting on weather reports or who else is going and so on but....

It's a lot less stressful for the person promoting the event when you get your commitments posted!

So come on guys!!!

At this time there are only 13 ACEholes committed. GIVE ME A BREAK!!! Next year maybe they should approach one of the stang clubs for support; I certainly wouldn't blame them!! Come on ACEholes, show them that you can do more than just post!! :ACE:

:hijack: If you cancel a posted event due to low attendance you are disappointing the people who did plan to attend.

When you plan an event there is no way to predict how many people will want to attend. You could get a lot of people or no one at all.

Just plan the event and then do it, regardless of the number of participants. Otherwise, you are putting unnecessary stress on yourself for something that should be fun.

End of :hijack:
