Don&Patty
In 1956 this bow was purchased for me and Ive owned ever since. It is a Root Field Master recurve that was made by Ernie Root (Root Bows in Chicago) prior to the merger between Root and Shakespeare Archery. I used the bow primarily for target shooting and target competition but have not strung it or shot it in many years. The bow has a white fiberglass overlay on both sides, the wood work is rosewood, lemon wood, what looks like mahogany. It is in excellent condition with the only flaw being a discoloration (yellow) at the bottom backside in the white fiberglass. As the kids and grandchildren have no interest in the bow I am contemplating selling it to someone who would appreciate it and take care of it. A local archery shop has offered me $200.00 but I rather see it go to someone I know and would take care of it. So Im open to offers. Thanks for looking.
