If I hook a wideband up and see that it's real rich, I can just add nitrous until it gets to where I want it. :banannarainbow:

I've actually read where some in fact did this, or talked about it in theory. They had enough injector and fuel pump capacity to use a small dry shot plate unit (75 shot, IIRC), along with installing some safeguard electronics.

I'm might not be back from Texas in time to do this dyno pull on Monday.....trying to reschedule for Tuesday morning instead. :banghead

Dyno runs completed this afternoon with wide band O2 (thanks Steve and LPM crew !!! ).....along with data logs from HP Tuners :rockon2: I want to look at the logs for each run and pair them up with the appropriate dyno graph, but it looks pretty conclusive on the surface that my fuel mix is definetly worth it :partydance:

Dyno run #3 at 3:45:10 PM on straight Shell 91 octane pump gas, heat soaked with ECT's above 214* with hood closed.....452/426

Dyno run #4 at 5:02:28 PM on 50/50 mix of Shell 91 octane pump gas and Sunoco GT+..... 484 RWHP/ RWTQ 457

We had some issues with the dyno, so the ECT's got up to 196* at the start of the pull due to the engine running at idle for 4+ minutes....ran with hood open to assist in keeping ECT's cool

ECT's got up to 208* at the start of the pull and finished at 214* ....ran with hood open to assist in keeping ECT's cool

Dyno sheet with local conditions.

SAE corrections applied.....correction 1.02

Best uncorrected run of 476.13 RWHP , 449.68 Tq.....corrected to SAE to 484.36 RWHP, 457.46 Tq...or if your a Standard type of guy.......

494.43 RWHP, 466.96 Tq.

Maybe we should just set Smoothing to 0, and Standard correction, so I can get the biggest reading so I can argue with people who love dyno numbers and bragging rights.... everybody loves inflated dyno numbers, right ? :partydance:

497.27 RWHP , 469.58 Tq :smilelol

OK...so now we can debate.

Did the 50/50 mix help my stock tuned LS7, and if so, where did the power increase come from ?

Same dyno......same day.....same local weather correction factors :thumbs

On straight pump gas , my average of the two good non-heat soaked runs is 475.34 RWHP, 446.78 Tq.

On my 50/50 mix, using all three runs to include the higher ECT beginnings and heat soaked passes to bias the number down.......

481.51 average RWHP

454.24 average RWTQ

...gives me gains of

6.17 RWHP gain

7.46 RWTQ gain

Use the average for the two best runs pushes the RWHP gains up just a bit...

482.59 average = 7.5 RWHP gain

454.58 average = 7.8 RWTQ gain

No KR on any of the 50/50 mix , which ends up to be roughly 97.5 octane.

The 91 pump runs had the advantage of superior ECT's to begin and finsih the runs, but had some KR near the upper RPM.

The 97.5 octane oxygenated fuel mix all begin their pulls in excess of 196* , with the two final pulls getting near and above the factory tune ECT barrier where timing is pulled...and running LESS overall total timing....and they still made more power than the 91 run's....interesting.

An interesting comparison between my best 91 pull and my worse 91 pull........

Best pull #2, no KR, 23.5* TT, 81* IAT, and 203* ECT......476/447

Worse pull #3, 1.3* KR, 17.5* TT, 88* IAT, and 216* ECT......452/426

With just a 7* warmer IAT, 13* warmer ECT, and the 1.3* KR, it all cumalitevly conspired to chop 6* TT and kill 24 RWHP and 21 ft/lbs RWTQ !!!

Conversely, my best and worse pull comparison on the 50/50 mix....

Best pull #4, no KR, 25* TT, 73* IAT, 194* ECT.......484/457

worse pull #5, no KR, 22* TT, 77* IAT, 212* ECT......479/453

With 4* warmer IAT, 18* warmer ECT, no KR, and a loss of 3* TT ... I only dropped 5 RWHP and 4 ft/lbs RWTQ.

Throw run #6 in the mix, with no KR, 20* TT, 81* IAT, ECT's between 221* and 217* (and probably the sole contributor to my 5* TT loss), ....480/451

With 8* greater IAT, 23* to 27* greater ECT's, and 5* less TT.... I only dropped 4 RWHP and 6 ft/lbs RWTQ.

HHhhhmmmmmmm ......think about that :pensativo:
