Guest sclirada
Hi all! A question for the experts! Was looking at a Vette, 72, that they said had been garaged its life. The radiator support was rusty though the frame looks solid. Can this occur if the car is driven little, and sits? Or does rusty radiator support mean rusty frame? Thanks!!! BSeery
I would look around the "birdcage" area. That is the windshield supports, the frame rails, and the area where the side frame rails meets the cross support for the rear trailing arms and rear end gears. There are pockets there that rust can form in. Also look at where the rear trailing arms meet the frame rails.Yes, the front is VERY prone to rust. If it's just the core support it can be replaced but those are getting harder and harder to find.
