I'm thinking we can get out of it

he said "i clocked one at 100, one at 94, and one at 92 - however, there were 4 of us - so who was doing what?

i think we can get out of it baseing this "assumption" as tanya disappeared into the sunset (it looked to me like she was runnin' - but that's probably because i was in the back and couldn't see around mark and phil.

on the good side - if i hadn't been "limping" home, we COULD have got stopoped at 130+ :willy just ask phil and steve about the run TO yuma! :thumbs:burnout

I'd go to court and talk to the prosecutor (hope it isn't the one Dan got) and offer to go to school if they will allow it. Last week they lowered the class from 8hrs to 4.5hrs. Don't want to scare any of you but the smaller Justice courts around AZ are known for being very pro-police. If any of you decide to fight it let me know and we'll do a courtroom 101 class.

On another note, you missed the kid with the first sign

In Richardson, Texas State Trooper was running radar. He had a

perfect spot to watch for speeders, but wasn't getting any. Then he

discovered the problem.

A 12 year old boy was standing up the road with

a hand painted sign which read "RADAR TRAP AHEAD!"

The officer later found a young accomplice down the road with a sign

reading, "TIPS" and a bucket full of money.

we probably wouldn't even have gotten stopped if Dwayne hadn't told him we were going - he said he saw us leave this morning and dwayne told him we were going to yuma - so he KNEW we had to go back that way to get home!

next time - we take a circular run to avoid such unfortunate circumstances! :rolf

I don't know what you're talking about. I drove the speed limit the entire time. :D

As a side note: I wondered where you guys went on the way back. I saw Chris pull into a gas station just before I got on the freeway in Yuma, so I drove 5 under for the next 30 minutes waiting for you to catch up, as Tim went by. Then I drove the speed limit for another half hour and wondered if you had decided to spend the night in Yuma. So I bumped it up a little and caught up with Tim and Robert just before Yuma. We stopped at the same Chevron we rested at on the way down, but you still didn't show. Now I know why. Don't you coneheads have radar detectors?

i asked PHIL the same question - as he saved our butts on a through globe once - he popped over a hill and his detector went off, he slowed down, got to the bottom of the hill and low and behold - copper sitting behind a boulder that could have doubled for a small mountain!

so i was counting on phil to keep us safe! :crazy

Time to get an Escort or a Valentine. They're spendy but not as much as a ticket when you figure in insurance costs. Mine has paid for itself many times over.

Steve, who only EVER drives 5 or so over the limit. :D

PS, hey Eddie, do they have laser radar in AZ?

I have a passport. It did work just fine, right after the DPS officer turned it on. :banghead

There were about 7 or 8 vehicles traveling about the same speed. The first was a Black Impala or Monte Carlo, then Tanya a few seconds off his bumper, myself, Mark, Chris, then a truck that been traveling with us since Yuma abd a few others.

I believe the first car caught the DPS's attention, and quickly turned on the Radar. That is about the time I noticed the patrol car and started to apply my brakes very hard, then I looked up and see the word AUTO go to full strength signal Ka. At that time I looked at my speed and I was about 88 or so.

We pulled into the right lane and proceded to go about 77 or so. Tanya and the black car kept traveling and got about 1/4 mile in front of us by the time the Highway patrol man caught up to us. It looked like he was going to go after them at one point then he slowed down and began to wave us all down. 3 Corvettes at once, imagine the discussion back at the dounut shop about us. :mad

Tanya pulled over when she saw us pull over. I called her and told her to take off and wait in Yuma.

After the whole Mystery Cruise Incident with officer Jason, we caught up with Tanya at McDonalds. She was upset the officer did not go after the first car. I guess you you might want to be in the front in one of these situations :yesnod in the future.

I asked Tanya how come she did not pull a Smokey and the Bandit scene where she speeds right up to the area where we are getting the ticket and spins to a stop. Then says something and speeds off. I thought that would have been a great solution to have gotten the 3 of us out the ticket.

Need to get back to trying to get out of the Dog House for the "MCI" with the wife. So more details later.

Phil... :mad ... :devil

Steve,

We were all late gettin gout of Yuma because I had a column lock issue! I got back to the parking lot to leave and when I put the car in reverse, the column locked up. Told me to pull my key and wait 10 secs. In the meantime, Chris, Phil and Mark had all taken off. So, I called Mark and he came back for me. It took 4 tries before my column unlocked.

I have had the recall done on my car and the previous owner also had the recall done. So, why it is still acting up (2nd time in 6 months) I don't know. I am planning on buying the CLB tomorrow.

UGH! lol.

Yeah, I felt bad that we all got popped by the coppers. I was leading the pack at that time and I was just off the bumper of the Impala when I saw the DPS offcr. I slowed for a second, but then sped up to take off, but I saw him pull out and thought he was for sure coming to get me. However, when I I saw Phil flash his lights at me, I saw them pulling over. So I pulled over. He called me on the phone and told me to TAKE OFF. I told him I wasn't going to let them all go down and I would wait to "take my lickins." lol. He told me "ROLL!" lol. So, I got back on the road and met them at the McD's in GB.

I just felt really bad. Because I know if Phil had been leading, it would have avoided all of this, as I do not have a radar detector in my car. I noticed I got more tickets with one than I do without one, so I threw it out the window a LOOOONG time ago.

Mr Valentine can help this from happening again...

Valentine 1

As someone who has been DAMN close many a time to getting a greenstamp. I have an additional device that I carry that works great for the "HP", in every state I have been in yet. Obviously a Valentine 1 and BCT8.

BearTracker? Warning System - Alerts you to activity on Highway Patrol link frequencies to let you know if there is activity within about 3 miles of your location

Technology is our friend. :D

These are a little tough to find as the truckers snatch em up as fast as they can.

http://www.uniden.com/productpop/00_produc...m?prd_code=BCT8

Works wonderful and does give you around a 3 mile warning most of the time.

It is preprogrammed for every state also and you can program channels yourself.

NM does have a digital system I believe, but this has worked over there for me too.

There is other devices out there too. :thumbs

I heard through the grape vine that it was all three... :burnout Do I win a prize? :D My queston would be, how did DPS clock you all at different speeds in a line in the first place? Was he using an attack radar system and got a lock on three of the four targets at varing speeds...NOT! I'm sure he isn't that good with a hand held tracking vettes going sublight speed.

I would fight the tickets for sure, sounds like :bs to me.

I don't see the tickets holding up!

If you want to fight them.

Do you have to go to court in Yuma??

I've always had the V1 and very seldom get a good Ka sig!!

It drives me crazy in town with all the door opener K sig out there!

If you all got tickets for different speeds, the LEO let you off!!

He needed contacts, you just had to find the get out of jail key!!

Any traffic lawyer will laugh at this!!

He was doing his duty on the side of the road!

Tanya blew by and woke him up............

Then you have the 'Loud as Crap' trio make him reach for D and nail it!!

Am I close??
