Some of the Yuma ACE group are planning on attending this function.

Route 66/Grand Canyon Tour

Registration and hotel reservations is done individually. I am thinking we will have at least 10 cars, getting the 10% discount. I talked to the tour organizer and he said to register assuming there will be more than 10. Never mind, Arizona Residents get a 10% discount.

Here is link to the registration form.

Registration Form

We have already reserved rooms for Saturday night in Williams at the Fairfield Inn by Marriott.

We are planning on spending Friday night in Laughlin vice Kingman. Rooms are cheaper, more parking, and wider choice of dinner menus (buffets). I have not made any hotel reservations there yet. I will post up if we can make a deal with one there. So we will drive up to Kingman, get registered, participate in evening activities, then over to Laughlin. Back in the morning to start the Route 66 Cruise.

We are also planning on spending Sunday night either in Flagstaff or close by or Laughlin, and returning on Monday.

Maybe a side visit to Oatman on the way home.

So far we have the following:

Yuma Rich & Esther

Janie Robinson (RojoSi5) and Malcolm

Dave (Pygmy) and Sherry Champagne

Floyd Ford and wife

Frank Rose + 1

Greg (Jester) & Susan

Jim Sanford and Peggy Jo

Michael and Ruth Christensen

Fred & Judy Jones

This is schedule relayed to me by the BG organizers, a little more detail about events and times. Tour check-in will take place Friday afternoon in Kingman from about 1-4pm. This evening we will have a Cruise Night. The Route 66 Tour will take place on Saturday leaving at 10am and ending in Williams between 3 & 4pm. We will stop in the town of Seligman for a couple hours. On Saturday evening, we will have a Corvette Display in downtown Williams while participants enjoy dinner at one of the Route 66 diners. The Grand Canyon Tour will take place on Sunday, leaving between 9 & 9:30am. We will travel together and everyone will be on their own once we arrive at the park around 10:30am. We will then have a two hour window for participants to meet up with us on the east side of the park at the Desert View Watchtower to receive their tour memento. This will be in the afternoon sometime between 1 and 4pm and then participants are on their own to travel back home or they may choose to stay at the canyon or do whatever they wish.

aquarius is a very nice hotel/casino with a couple good places to eat as well. I have a home in Bullhead on the river (5 mins from hotel row in laughlin) so I am out there a lot. I am going to TRY to attend this but the timing of the event isnt all that great so we will see. At the least maybe ill go out to my river house and meet up with the group in Kingman for the cruise.

We are going to be making our reservations. Does anyone have rooms for Friday night yet, and if so, which hotel did you choose? Dianne

No I haven't. I have been looking at the different hotels in Laughlin to compare prices, and I am going to call to see if we can get a group rate. I am thinking at least half the price of Kingman rates to make it worthwhile?

Yes, the Aquarius, formerly the Flamingo, is nice along with Harrah's. There should be plenty of room to negotiate price with the way things are. A good friend of my dad's who lives in Vegas says the place is nearly a ghost town. Laughlin can only be worse. Gotta be able to "wheel and deal" on the phone and don't just take some measely 10% off with a stale roll breakfast.

yes Laughlin is almost a gost town during the week. Weekends are still turn a decent # because of all the river traffic. Its not what it would have been 2 years ago but still a fair amount of people coming out. Aquarius room rates are pretty cheap as it is but I am sure you could negotiate a deal there with them.

Yah, but negotiating for nine rooms probably won't do much. If we had about 20+, that might give me some more leverage. We are still just under two month out, but need more people to commit soon.

Jeeez Rich, The rooms are only 65.00 per night any cheaper than that and they would have to pay you to stay there. I am sure they could hook up you up with twin beds for about the same price  Aquarius Luxury Guest Room, Adult Tower - King Bed View Details $64.99 Total Room Rate Luxury Guestroom with 1 King Bed located in our Adult-only Tower - thoughtful, more spacious design featuring a tranquil color palette, and chrome, granite, and dark wood finishes. The price you get to pay for the pleasure of our company. :P Yeah, just for the organization of the event, and getting us out of Kingman in an orderly manner, and up to the GC. We thought we would have a LARGE ace contingent going on this.
