Kewl.... Thanks for the warm welcome. Unfortunately I am going to be real busy through the holidays. But Christmas weekend the motor and trans come out!!! I hope... I hope to have her back together by the end of Feb - this assumes AFR will ship me my heads that I have been waiting 2 months for - and of course these are the last piece to my puzzle.

Oh believe me I know. I did get my AFRs. There was box damage... The monkey's at UPS strike again. But I do not hold AFR accountable for that ..... the rest well a picture is worth a thousand words.

Needless to say they got sent back on the same day. I have personal assurances from Rick (the AFR pres) that he will personally inspect them the new set before they are shipped.

Here is the email that I sent the distributor I purchased them from. This managed to get Rick's attention.

Dave,

Here are the links to the images we discussed on the phone. I do not hold AFR at fault for the broken box or damage on one corner but I do hold them responsible for the other manufacturing defects and lack of quality, which in my book is sub-standard. As I mentioned, I can not in good conscience put these on my new motor even if they are repaired. I would not think that, in good conscience, they could charge you a restocking fee because that would imply that these could be resold. Not as they are presently, if they repaired the damage maybe?.. They may be able to re-machine these for their 72cc chamber sizes and larger intake runners. But that is not your worry it is theirs.

I will let you know the part # of the Trick Flow heads I would like to replace these with.

Wow, to wait that long and get that kinda of craftsmanship. :cuss

Your right, some can be blamed on UPS, but a lot of that came that way straight from AFR.
