Let me know if you decide to deal seriously with Van's. My youngest dated Chuck, the GM's daughter which probably won't get you anything but my co-worker is good friends with Chuck. You do know that the first one was a Hertz rental, right? I don't know that the second one is but the black accent was how the Hertz cars were painted. I'm not sure I'd want a rental return.

old yeller

The bottom one is a rental. I looked at it one day and it has the ZHZ or whatever the letters were that they gave the rentals still on the center console lid. So figure the car is 2 years old with a rough estimate of 400 plus different drivers. I am sure that each one babied that car. :burnout And to answer the second part is NO I would not deal with them. I thought they were a bunch of a-holes when I was there looking for a truck a couple of months ago. They told me the truck was newer that it actually was and that it was a one owner. It had about four different owners when I researched the truck.

They gave me the run around on the phone trying to get me to drive on the lot when I was looking for a truck last month. The salesman kept saying the one I saw online was just there an hour ago and that I should come in because if the one I wanted wasn't there he had several others that were exactly what I was looking for... Bait and switch for something 10K more! NOT!!!

Well, I guess I'll be the lone dissenter here :) I did not buy my car from there, but my service adviser Kosta (asst. service mgr) has taken care of my warranty and service needs whenever my car has required a dealership visit. I chose them due to the fact that they moved(d) a larger number of new and used Vettes, had several Vette specialist working there, and appeared to be more Vette centric there than any of the other local dealers in my area (NW Valley). Several friends have purchased new C6 Z06's from them (based on my recommendation and dealership experience) and were very pleased with out come as well.

Their service dept sucks sweaty sack........Don't care to go into details, but while my car was being serviced I watched a 16 year old kid driving a customer vette through the car wash. He slid coming out of the wash, drove over speed bumps at close to 10 mph Then driove to the back lot. I also watched the service tech sweat like a pig all over my interior while he was replacing the A/C head unit. Proceeded to scratch the crap out of my ash tray cover, which had to be replaced. When I commented on the sweat every where, he took glass cleaner and prceeded to clean the interion, leather and all with glass cleaner. I did not read that in the owners manual for cleaning leather. The interior smelled link my cousin vinny after eating a garlic pizza. When I got the car backm, the service writer drove it out. The xm radio diod not work, the ac did not work. he started to accuse me that they were broke before I brought it in. I think the look on my face pursuaded him to keep hios mouth shut and fix the problem. just my .02 worth

Thanks for the opinions so far. I really don't give a crap about their service department as the vehicle would never be taken there anyway. The question really is "would you BUY fron Van" as in honesty of listings, do they sell reliable vehicles or junk ready to implode, etc.

Even though you are looking only for "buying" information, you might want to take the service information into consideration anyway. I say this because businesses have "cultures" within them that determine how they function. A dealer like Van that will do crappy work and try to rip off customers in the service department is indicative of a business culture that is NOT focused on honest business ethics and quality customer service. It is unlikely their sales department is trustworthy with their service department being so rotten. Just sayin'. . .

The ZHZ had model specific 7 spoke wheels.

BTW, did you know that Hertz rents Vettes?

Would I buy from Van? Probably, but not either of those vettes. Service departments are for suckers that like paying $90/hr. I haven't been to one in years. Just research the car you're looking into, post the vin for us to checkout for you and buy the car.

Bottom line John, I don't care who the dealer is. I find the vehicle I want and go into the transaction knowing the dealers going to be a dick. It really doesn't bother me because I'm as big or bigger dick than they are and I'm not marrying them, just buying a vehicle from them. Van's is a Van Tuyl dealer and at least here in Phx they own 2/3's of the dealers and they're all azzholes. Van Tuyl is known for high pressure. I laugh at people that say they won't buy from dealer A but will from dealer B and they're both Van Tuyl dealerships.
