Phill's Vette

Recommended Posts

One of my co-workers was telling me her elderly aunt has an old Chevy Celebrity she wants to sell. Apparently she can't drive any more. She wasn't sure but she thought it had about 15k miles on it. She's calling her Mom to see if they still have it and what they want for it. I'll let you know.

Call me 602-241-6533! The car is for sale. 1988 Chevrolet Celebrity white 4dr 5k miles. It was stolen several years ago and the insurance co put a new engine in. She has no idea what it's worth but my co-worker said $1000 would be great.

Phill's Vette

Ya know, this forum is the first place I go when I need info, help, experience, opinions etc. I have asked about everything from gas water heater install, how to get the shift knob off an 82 Vette, remove oily dirt from new shoes and so on; I ALWAYS seem to get the help I need here! You people (Sorry to quote Ross Perot) here are da best!! :ACE:

You're welcome Phil. That's what ACE is all about.... helping each other out. I think you ought to tell the story Phil. It's funnier than any of Big Tom's jokes.

That's not saying much...

Phill's Vette

The story: I met with this sweet elderly woman that owned this car, a 1988 Chevrolet Celebrity that had only 50k miles, she bought it new in 1988, garage kept, clean like new inside/out. The car was stolen a few years back and they trashed the engine; insurance replaced with brand new motor (V6 2.8L) so even less miles on the new motor and runs great! After driving the car, I made her an offer of $700 cash, she turned it down and said $200 would be fine. I told her that was too low as did her daughter but SHE was the boss in this deal. I then told her I could not pay LESS than $500 and she said NO, that's too much and that she is just going to donate the money to charity anyway. She then said she will take $300, I told her I said $500 so we WILL settle on $400 in between! I then handed her or rather PLACED $400 cash in her little hand and said DEAL! I'm lucky to have got out of there with even more money in my pocket..... I've never haggled to pay MORE for something.... and I STILL left feeling a little guilty :ack::facepalm:

Man that's funny, I needed a good laugh today.

When she counts her money -- boy is she going to be pissed at you. :willy
