So I won't do anything unless I get PMs or a thread like this, I don't think Dean's Av is offensive, and the posts here seem split.... So what would you do? Ask one member to change it which I pretty positive he will be offended, or ask the member that complained to take a second look with an explanation of the Av. (in this cae it's fake and humorous)??? There are several of us that perform a janatorial role and if we see something Obvious than action/request is taken. Exampels of Obvious: -my Reno911 gid that is now playing the The Basement was pulled. -there was a Turkey pic with bold letters saying "FU*KED" (naughtery word) -There was a set of boobs bouncing... like that was all that was shown. just boobs. jiggling. in all there glory. There was a discussion had and it was borderline about the Ron Burendery gif in question. thats why Dawg reopened the thread, to encourage a civil discussion. The the consencious was that it was bad, we would have asked kawasaki-boy to pull it. ..but the consenious is leaning the other direction. I enjoy the freedom we have here on ACE, and saying if 'one persons opnion sets the boundry for what is deemed offensive' is not somehting I like.... I dont like the idea of one person/s setting the boundrys of what is in Good Taste or not. .... I didn't say Dawg's avatar was offensive, as I believe your's is. That "well Known" comedic Movie is not as well known as you may think it is--except in your mind. Your motives for posting such an Avatar maybe well known with your peers, but not with mine. Animal cruelty, weather real of just portrayed as such is still a little sick. I would view child porn - real or portrayed in the same way. ACE is an association not a club, and as such you have every right to use any avatar that you want. However, weather you like it or not, we are all represenative of ACE through our posts and will encourage new members or offend them by the way we show ourselves. There are many Corvette organizations in this area to be part of. ACE is carving out a nitch of prospective members by it's precieved persona and folks will choose who they want to associate with on that basis. Some may choose to be part of a Corvette owners group that finds preceived animal cruelty to be funny, some may not. Stay classy out there. At the risk of 'explaining' the apparently bad joke, we got a new puppy that my son named "Baxter", after the pooch in Anchorman, his favorite movie. We found the .gif scene with Jack Black and thought it was hilarious. So now here we are. Now, since I don't know Hawkeye, and he never approached me to express his reaction in private, I feel compelled to at least offer my apologies to him...publicly. It might be that he had a dog just like Baxter and my avatar was personally offensive to him. Regardless, I'll start looking for a new avatar.
