Togo
Was that sucker clogged or what?i swear it looked like some kid took mud and smeared it all over the front of the radiator!now - i have a few people on CF asking about the radiator performance and fitment - would you mind posting here and i can direct them to this thread?for the record - my car is a '92 LT1 - and EXTREME Radiator details followOrder Details:1 #1052-3, Corvette 1990-1996 Heavy Duty 3 Row Radiator $199.00Subtotal: $199.00Shipping: $15.00 Tax: $.00 Total: $214.00the shipping was super fast - they shipped it out same day and it got here like 2 days later!so now on to the gory details.....i know that you said (or was it your brother) that the radiator was a tad too thick (perhaps due to the 3 rows instead of 2?)i also remember you saying the lines for the transmission cooler were off a bit so they had to be "made to fit" true?AND last but not least, a few areas needed to be grinded away to accomodate hoses/clamps/etc.can you think of anything else?and THANKS for a job well done and QUICK i might add!!!! Desertdawg
It might run good, but when are you going to make it look good????
Togo
It might run good, but when are you going to make it look good???? as soon as i complete the brakes - i'm going to upgrade to C5 brakes - because it's cheaper than upgrading to the J55 "HD" brakes with the GS calipers. sloryde
Glad to hear that your happy! As far as installation, it was not just a drop in replacement. We had to cut the lwr. saddles that the radiator sits on. They had to be cut wider to clear the wider tank flanges. The lwr. radiator case (or shroud) had to be dremeled out to one side about 1/4" to clear the lwr. hose water inlet. also the lwr. shroud had to be dremeled up about 3/4" to clear the lwr. trans. cooler line fitting (not needed on man. trans.). The upper shroud had to be dremeled out to one side about 3/8" to clear upper hose water outlet. The upper shroud also had to be dremeled out about 1" down to clear the upper trans. cooler line fitting (not needed on man. trans.). The upper radiator hold down saddles had to be cut out to clear the wider tank flanges. Thats about it. Total install time was about 2hrs. Again thanks for the business. See you soon. Joe. sloryde
I almost forgot, if your going to C-5 brakes then I know where you can get a set of good used calipers & brackets. I don't know if stock C-5 brackets are needed as you'll need to buy the conversion kit, which basically consists of brackets. Joe.

Joe. i sent an email to chad at extreme - whatchu got?i was looking at superior chevrolet's website and i found that the Z06 RED calipers are actually cheaper than the C5 "regular" calipers by about $13 ea. so i'm wanting to go with those - if you know where some of those are, i'd be more than happy to take a look at them.i am also working with Gene Culley from Fred Beans - as that's where i ordered my Z06 rear end from - so i asked him if he could run me some prices on the calipers, brackets, misc. bolts - and for grins - pads and rotors.hey Joe - you wouldn't happen to need pads and rotors for your GS would ya? ;) i guess that's a stupid question - you can probably get those a dime a dozen with a healthy discountoh and tell your brother that when i get my car from mike, i'll be down for an alignment - or at least an inspection - as mike lifted the car up an inch - and i don't want to take any chances with premature tire wear especially with Mich. sloryde
I just talked to Daryll at Xtreme (Chad is out of town) and he said he has 2 sets of good take-off calipers & rotors. The customers upgraded to Brembo so the parts were not removed because they were bad but just as an upgrade. If the rotors need to be resurfaced let me know as I have a rotor lathe, I can even get them from Xtreme and cut them before you pick them up as they are right around the block from my shop. Anyway talk to Daryll he knows about them. Joe.
sloryde
BTW the calipers are still attached to the brackets so they have all the pins & bolts incl. Joe.
