  1. Looking to borrow a GM Tech 2 II SCANNER TOOL. Fuel sytem service light keeps popping on at just under half tank of fuel and depletes to 0 gal of fuel. I understand from threads it’s common and I already tried the Techron.. And still keeps coming back at the under a half tank point. I use Shell or Chevron Super always. Thinking of getting the code and doing it myself. Cheers! 🍻 -Mike
  2. How do I identify the size of a photo? The easiest way to determine the size of a photo is to save it to a computer and look at its properties. On a Windows PC, and similarly with the process of saving photos on Apple computers, existing photo sizes already uploaded to ACE can be identified by right-clicking on the photo and selecting "save image as". Choose to save it to your desktop or some other location you can find the photo in later. In your saved location, right-click on the image and select "Properties". In the "Details" tab will be a property called "Dimensions". That's the size of your image (Width x Height). You can now chose to crop / resize your photo as noted below. How do I resize a photo so it is compliant with the signature image limits? Signature images are the only uploads that need to be resized before uploading. These images are typically a landscape image where the widest part of the image is horizontal as opposed to portrait images where the widest part is vertical. We suggest a typical car photo be in landscape. iOS (Apple mobile/tablet) If there are parts of the surrounding image you don't want, crop down an existing photo in your Camera Roll to only the portion you want to see. It's very similar to this how-to link: http://www.imore.com/how-resize-photos-your-iphone-or-ipad-no-computer-needed However, you don't have to select a preformated aspect ratio. You can pinch & zoom the image as well as change the dimensions of the crop box window to narrow down exactly what you want in the final picture. Resize the saved image with the free app, Image Resizer Free (in the App Store) Select and add (+) a photo from your camera roll. It could be image that you saved after cropping from the instructions above. Resize the image. Signature images must be no larger than 300px height, and 600px width. The Image Resizer Free app displays the width box first, followed by the height box. Setting the height box to 250 should adjust the typical width to 333 given a standard, unedited landscape photo with a 4:3 aspect ratio (what almost all cameras take). Once set, press the OK button (top right). Press the Done button when finished. Press the Save button (Down arrow) and "Save Image" to your camera roll. You should now have a copy of the original photo, at the new size, in your photo camera roll. Choose this new image when selecting the file to upload to your signature. If the image you choose is too large when you save your ACE signature, it will warn you that it was unable to save your signature and tell you why. Android mobile/tablet Not exactly sure what capabilities are baked into Samsung, Nexus, LG, HTC, etc. Google "crop / resize images on Android". I'm sure there's similar apps in the Google Play store. Windows / Apple / Linux PC Software like Paint, IrfanView, Gimp, Photoshop, and others have great tutorials that can be found by googling, "crop / resize image with IrfanView". Online, web based sites like http://resizeimage.net/ can also get the job done. Phone a friend If you find that you still need assistance in identifying, cropping, or resizing a photo, feel free to PM anyone in the ACE staff for help.
  3. How do I get in contact with an administrator or moderator? - See "Contact" below. What size or quality of images can I upload? - See "File Storage" below. Signature images are specified below and must be resized prior to uploading. All other image uploads are automatically resized and quality-reduced automatically. How do I private messages someone? - See "PM vs Status Update (Feed Messages)" below. How do I post a public message to someone? - See "PM vs Status Update (Feed Messages)" below. Contact: ACE Staff is here (also under the Browse tab, Staff link) if you need help, have additional questions or suggestions, or if you just want to reach out and say Hi. You can also use the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page. File Storage: (Images, videos, attachments, etc.) ACE has a limited amount of physical space for data. Because of this, we need to pose certain limitations on file uploads, especially photos. Photos have already been transparently limited upon upload for sections like the Gallery, and general posts. The server software resizes and quality-reduces the image files being uploaded automatically. Unfortunately, the board software currently does perform this upon upload of signature images. As of July 5th, ACE will implement photo dimension limits for signature images. Signature images will be limited to 600 pixel width x 300 pixel height. Please use the time between now and then to verify your existing signature image(s) will comply with the new limits. Access your signature settings via your Account Settings (top right, under your login name), Signature. If you need assistance identifying the size, cropping and/or resizing a photo, please see THIS helpful thread. If you still need assistance, private message any ACE staff member as noted below. Please be respectful of the limited storage space we have, and whenever possible, utilize external image hosting services like Google Photos, Photobucket, Imgur, Instagram, Flickr, or the like when posting. Storage and file limitations can and will be reevaluated as ACE grows. If storage of images, videos, etc., begins to tax the system or grow too large too quickly, additional limits may be enabled. All limitations will be communicated to the members prior to implementation in order for members to adjust and comply. PM vs. Status Update (Feed messages): A private message (PM) to individual members is just that, a private message. No other members can see it. A PM can be performed through your Mail / Messages icon (top right next to your login name), by hovering over or clicking on a member's name or mention "@ACEname" and clicking "Message". Group messages are allowed, just add additional names in the "To:" area. A status update is similar to posting a message on someone's facebook wall or feed. Everyone can see everything that is posted on someone else's feed simply by viewing their profile and typing a message into the "Leave a message on ACEname's feed.." box. If you don't want other people to see your message, utilize the PM message option instead.
