The Copperstate 1000 Rally leaves from Tempe's Diablo Stadium, 2200 W. Alameda Dr. on SATURDAY April 18, 2015.
Rally cars leave at 12 noon. The public is invited to a "Cruise In" from 9AM -2 PM so bring your Corvette (or even a Beamer) out for a fun morning.
Rally cars are pre-1973 and are usually some interesting cars and marquees. Entries are limited to 85. The organizers are bringing out food trucks and a beer garden so bring your wallets.
Usually this event left on Sunday, but they are mixing things up and going out a day earlier. The rally cars park on the stadium's grass and cruisers can park on the west side asphalt lot.
The cars leave going out the first base side of the stadium and head down Alameda to 48th Street, so that is a great vantage point to see the cars take off and rip through the gears.
To get there, just exit the I-10 at Broadway or 48th Street (if coming from the west side), go west to 48th Street and south to Alameda. Turn east at the traffic light and enter into the parking lot west do the stadium.
