Rant: Will anyone patch a fu@king tire anymore???

Here is how my afternoon went after picking up a screw on the Ef Juan Fiddy:

"I'm sorry, thats an inch off the centerline of the tire, we can't fix that with the plug patches we use. We can sell you new tire(s) though"  Different operations and locales, its just easier to sell new tires now than provide any kind of service you're willing to pay for

I guess I'll be spending my Saturday driving to South Phoenix like I'm hunting a dime bag of weed, looking for a tire patch at the old llantera shops

End rant

Firestone,  McDowell and Pebble Creek Parkway patches tires.  Just as far as South Phoenix, but less likely to get mugged.  :P

Buy a plug kit and do it yourself.  My plugged tire has not lost any air in almost two months now.

Sorry you are so faaarrrrrrr.. rr away, or I would be happy to pop one in. Do it for free too.

Easy really, hardest thing is taking off tire.

I am yet to see any shop that knows shit about tires, have yet to see one properly put alignment dot with valvestem. Even though asked several times. Tried several Discount, Jack Furriers, etc. In the end they all muck it up and give a piss poor balance job.  Only one Firestone here (other than the one on base) can do road force balancing, and get ready to wait several hours.

I was PO'd and exaggerating only slightly, its not even on the outer tread band. I know what can be patched, these places just don't want to do it anymore. Discount and Firestone can kiss my a$$

Its the OEM tires with not even 25K on them. If I had 35K or thereabouts I'd probably just pull the trigger on a new set. Now I basically have to short-use 2

May just see if I can get someone to take the spare and rotate onto the rim, just mount the "damaged" tire onto the spare rim, then plug the spare myself

Didn't we just have a get together last month at C and R Tire?  Why don't you run it by there and see if they will take care of you.

Doh!  Just saw Old Yeller had the same suggestion.

Heard there was a tire place ACE just had a meet & Greet at. Think it was C&R tire.

Maybe you should go by there.

  1. SHEESH I'm surprised no one here mentioned that in a previous post
