Tony D.
Helping a friend out with his 96 and we just wanted to see if his system would hold a vaccuum. The gauge was at 70 and after about a half hour it dropped to 50. I am wondering if there is a clog in the system or this is normal on some vehicles. dale68z
You are vaccuuming out a system with pressure in it?
Two Fangs
Sounds like that is what is happening. I doubt there is a restriction, OP,, otherwise the system would pull into a vacuum pretty quickly and then not hold it as refrigerant slowly filtered past the restriction and into the manifold gauge assembly. Chances are the vacuum pump or one of the fittings is not fully depressing the schraeder valve in the middle AC hose causing your issue of a slow pulldown.
