Rules for ACE Deals section and Vendors

Arizona Corvette Enthusiasts (ACE) will now require all vendors to abide by this new set of rules.

This set of guidelines, standards, and ethics are designed to be as fair as possible to all current and future ACE Vendors. Please review this new policy and as always feel free to PM any ACE administrator with questions or suggestions to be reviewed.

It is important to note that ACE is here for our members; offering advice or repair suggestions will always be our goal, as a vendor you should try to help on the public forum if possible. We are not a commercial forum, and our members should not be pounced on every time they post up a detail or mechanical issue for which they are seeking advice.

Your business may solicit services only via PM, phone call, email or other method in private and not viewable on the public forum. While ACE understands your goal is to survive and make a profit, we will not allow deliberate undercutting or questioning of a competitor’s service by any means.

If a member informs us of any vendor using this tactic, your status will be suspended or revoked. To remain neutral, ACE will never accept sponsorship in the form of monetary compensation or any other binding support from a vendor.

The ACE administration/moderators will approve or review any vendor request or status, there is no guarantee that vendor status will be granted to any or all requests, and there will be no legal recourse against ACE if vendor status is denied.

Though not a legal or binding contract, vendors must conduct themselves accordingly and adhere to these guidelines.

You may only promote or advertise for your business in the ACE Deals section, Avatar, and Signature.

• Advertising should be kept to a decent size (no large-sized or flashing signature banners, etc.)

• ACE Admin and Mod Staff will have final approval of ACE Vendor avatars and signatures

• The ACE Admin and Mod Staff will contact you if there is an issue with your advertising, if it requires editing or removal you will be notified, the ACE staff's decision will be final. From this point forward you are not allowed to initiate project threads about client’s cars for the sole purpose of promoting your business.

• You may post up pictures of a current project which may be of general interest to ACE members from a mechanical, historical, or DIY stand point, but details of the vehicle should be generic and non-specific such as “a customer brought me a ’98 with a brake problem” or “a customer brought me a Yellow C6 which needed paint correction” and the like. You are not allowed to tag on commentary to promote the service or repair, such as “if you have a similar issue we can fix this for you”.

• You should always have permission from the vehicle’s owner before using any images of their vehicle and state in the thread “with owner’s permission”.

• If your client or an ACE forum member decides to initiate and post a thread about a service, repair, or modification about your work that is acceptable. However, ACE expects this practice to be of the forum member’s own volition. Again, you should avoid tagging on with phrases such as “we can do the same for you”, etc. You may provide the client with photos, parts lists, and dyno results for them to post on ACE

• Once a client has created a thread, you may post your progress in the form of pictures, dyno sheets, build sheets or specifications of the project and/or narratives without using the thread as an opportunity to sell.

• Detailing threads should be kept within a single common thread within “Car Care and Detailing” section and updated and added to and should include pointers and tips to the DIY’er.

• Mechanical repairs and projects may go in the appropriate heading under the “Technical” section No soliciting or competing for customers within a thread

• Members posting car issues seeking advice can be given direction and tips for a DIY repair. You may not solicit the repair via public forum, i.e. “Bring that in, we can take care of that for you”

• You may communicate with a member via PM, phone call, email or other private method about a repair or service

• You MAY NOT engage in undercutting a competitor’s price or call into question a competitor’s service on the public forum or via PM. If a member informs the moderators or administrators that you are engaging in such practice, your vendor status will be suspended or revoked. Service or repair specials may be posted in the ACE Vendor section only

• You may not link or otherwise refer to any current specials or sales within a member’s thread or anywhere else outside of the ACE Deals section. This includes your signature and avatar.

Failure to conduct yourself per the guidelines can and will result in suspension or revocation of your vendor status and posting privileges. If you have any questions regarding these guidelines please notify any forum Administrator or Moderator. All decisions regarding vendor status or forum decorum will be decided and acted upon by ACE Administrators and Moderators out of public forum.

WOW, now that took some thought! Good job. Posted Image

You have no idea how much :lol The intent is to keep ACE about the members, their cars, having fun, and helping each other out while still providing a benefit for loyal, actively participating vendors! :thumbs

Yeah, a few people worked long and hard on those. Some of us just had input that was incorporated. Came out really well too, I think. :thumbs

John and I whole-heartedly agree with every word in the by-lays laid forth by our founding fathers who were no doubt thinking of me when they were written. Thank you and have a blessed day! :squish:
