  2. gives to you... as collected and curated from the way-back-machine , this large batch of ACE historical events, released slowly as not to overwhelm you with too many emotions at once. We'll be periodically posting old ACE events in the Gallery and encourage you to reminisce , comment, and tag folks you recognize! (Use the "@handleName" for tagging like this: @theChad) Also, if you find something out of place, let us know... we can move it around to the appropriate spot! Not everything was intuitive to sort and categorize. Your help is appreciated! We'll try to keep a linked list in this thread as we release new historical events. 3. Cruise on Central

Nancy Perry is doing another Cruise on Central event on Saturday 10-7-17 from 10 AM -7:30 PM. Central will be closed the width of Park Central Mall. Note they are shutting down at 7:30 - guess the Geritol wears out by then, or the Viagra kicks in ?
  4. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this run is not possible due to road conditions. Yesterday I had to go to Flagstaff, so I drove the cruise route to get there. I discovered there is major construction in progress on Lake Mary Road between Happy Jack and Flagstaff. There are 7 MILES of dirt/gravel/rocks where the pavement has been completely removed. In numerous places the rocks/gravel between the wheel ruts was so deep my Vette was bottoming out and scraping. I crept through there at 10-15 miles an hour, but I have damage to the splitter and I need to put the Vette up on a lift to see what kind of damage I may have done to the undercarriage. Sadly, there are no good alternatives. I-17 northbound on Saturdays right now sucks with heavy traffic, and is a boring drive at best. Detouring off Hwy 87 from Payson down Hwy 260 to Camp Verde puts us right back on I-17 heavy northbound traffic, and into Flagstaff at least an hour later, right in the middle of lunch hour when the Brewery is very busy. Their parking lot is iffy at best, and at lunchtime there is no way a group of us will even find parking, much less be able to eat lunch together. So, this is a bust. I will try to do it again next year – at least Lake Mary Road should have good pavement then. . . Spend a day out of the heat. . . Saturday August 19th, cruise to Flagstaff via the back roads. Route: Payson/Strawberry/Happy Jack/Flagstaff. Lunch at Beaver Street Brewery: http://www.beaverstreetbrewery.com/ The Brewery opens at 11:00. They DO NOT take reservations, even for large groups. So, the plan is to be there when they open the doors at 11:00. . . Back into the blast furnace via I-17. 8:00 a.m. meet for a prompt 8:30 a.m. departure. MEET POINT: Chevron gas station, southeast corner of Beeline (Hwy 87) and Ft. McDowell Road. This is the second traffic light north of the intersection of Beeline and Shea Blvd (approximately 2 miles). Turn right off Beeline, and an immediate right into the Chevron. Drive through the fuel islands, and bear left into the parking lot on the side of the building. Food, drinks, fuel, restrooms available. Route and itinerary will be provided at the meet point. Saturday, September 24, 2016 10th Annual Historic Prescott Corvette Show Prescott Vette Sette, the club that hosts this event, has been listening to input from participating Corvette owners, and is working very hard to make this event better. Show organizers have assured me that (unlike last year) if ACE Corvettes arrive as a group (all at the same time), we will be parked together as a group. The only requirement is that we give them a head count one week before the show - and I have committed to doing that. So, if you are interested in participating, go here for details and to register: http://www.prescottvettesette.org/carshow.htm If you plan to attend and would like to enter/park in the show as a group on Saturday morning, meet up in time to depart as a group at 8:15. 21. The Re-Annual Father's Day Sedona Cruse is BACK !! It's been on hiatus for a few years, with the last one being in 2013 to Payson. It is one of the twistiest and most scenic cruises and I demand it return to ACE! In previous years, we've counted over 50 Vettes and 80+ people so it was truly one of the premier ACE events of the year. Let's make it just as glorious as it once was! This is the weekend before Father's Day so everyone can still celebrate the holiday with family. There will be NO RESTAURANT destination for lunch. You are required to bring your own sack lunch or food to grill for a picnic. Two small charcoal grills are available to cook your own, but you will also be required to bring any items necessary to grill. E.g. Charcoal, fire, utensils, etc. There's one medium sized ramada with 6 picnic tables, a nearby restroom, and a playground. There is limited parking next to the ramada, but plenty of spaces, just a short distance, SE of the ramada and playground. ROUTE & Phoenix Launch Point CHANGE !! Due to the Yarnell/Peeples Valley Tenderfoot fire and the closure of 89, we'll miss out on the Prescott portion of the twisties. This also allows us to leave a bit later in the morning to allow for a picnic lunch target closer to Noon. North Phoenix New Launch Point: NEW Departure Time @ 9:15AM McDonalds @ Carefree/I-17 (3140 W Carefree Hwy) Instead of launching from Wickenburg, we'll be congregating at the McDonalds just East of I-17 on the Carefree Highway (3140 W Carefree Hwy) Route: I-17 North to 69 to Fain Rd, just East of Prescott Valley - This avoids the crappy traffic to 89A / Pioneer Parkway to Pioneer Park - Which allows us to pickup additional ACE folk. Departure still the same @ 10:45 to 89A up Mingus Mountain, through Jerome, to Cottonwood's Garrison Park for the picnic. The Sedona leg will be after lunch. After lunch, it's "driver's choice" on the return trip. Finish the 89A route through Sedona and north though Oak Creek Canyon and Slide Rock State Park toward Flagstaff. Head South via HWY 179 from Sedona and return to the valley on I-17. Head South from Cottonwood on HWY 260 and return to the valley on I-17, or make a HUGE loop and carry on to Camp Verde and up the Mogollon Rim, returning on HWY 98 via Payson. If you didn't get enough the first time, go back the same way you came! Meeting Points and Directions: Some of these were take from previous trip meets, so if they need modified or additional spots added, please feel free to throw out some suggestions and I'll update this section. Tucson: Circle K @ Cortaro Farms Rd. (Just East of I-10) - Departure time ~07:00 Yuma: Need Location Suggestion & Time to leave to meet at McDonalds.
