So Hal, how's it running? It sounded nice when we left and can't wait to see what it does on the dyno before the Renegade and of course after. partydance.gif Give me buzz if you have any issues that we need to take a look at.

Well, M~ finally got mad at me for not fixing the steering issue. We pulled the steering box and sent it in to be rebuilt and "blueprinted". Since it's soooooo dang hot out and we don't drive it during the summer, she said "fix it, NOW!!!" After the refrigerator incedent, I figured I should do something nice for her.....

I didn't realize I was going to have to pull have the engine out to get the steering box out. Otherwise I would have found something else to do......

Yeah, the guy that either you or Phill told Melissa about. He seems like a straight up guy..... He's a Vette guy though, so who knows.... tongue.gif

Just half the engine..... facepalm.gif JK, I only had to take the alternator and header out to get the stupid thing out. If it had been the Plymouth I wouldn't have had to pull anything apart at all...... rolleyes.gif Maybe when we get it back, we'll do an install day and see who wants to put it all back together for us....

Ok, it may have been me then. Was his name Gary Ramadei? If so, Gary does a nice job and goes over the entire box with a fine tooth comb. I had him do mine to better than stock spec's on the internals. Has he sent you any pics yet?

Brett,
Take the rub stripe off of the doors and rear fenders... Just looks wrong!

Still looks like a fun project, keep up posted on your progress.

Also, good idea on returning to the original white! Of all the modifications that can be done to a C3, keeping the original color is a MUST for me, even if it was Hot Pink.......Thanks God GM never used that color!
A Stingray will be my next vette maybe this year; looking for a 71-75 to restore and/or to hotrod the hell out of. I will only do so much to my 82 as to keep it basically stock.
Keep the pics coming as you restore!

I couldn't agree with you both more! That moulding is coming off soon! It will be a long time before I'll be able to have it painted, but it's abosultely going to back to white. I've got a new nose coming next week and a few other parts and pieces to get me started.

Would look great white too, with polished wheels...sweet!

Just a quick update on the CFI project .... What we hope to be the final step in getting our new engine completed, the Renegade was installed yesterday. Thanks to my friends at Vintage Iron and Tom for taking the time to help with final assembly .... The only thing left is to have Jim do a balance on the TBs as it feels like we're running a little rich in the lower RPM range .... from 3k up ... hang on.
Motor seems to run a lot smoother and can certainly feel a difference in torque in the mid and upper RPM range. As soon as final tune is accomplished, we'll be off to LPM for some dyno time. burnout.gif

Thanks again Dave and Tom .... your assistance very much appreciated..... thumbsup.gif thumbsup.gif

It was cool to help out Hal, just wish the humidity was lower...lol. Whew! I think we can lean that up a tad and be good and may want to play with that timing a little as well while on the dyno. Glad you like the new SOTP performance. smile.gif partydance.gif
