Pretty much as expected. I didn't think there was anyway it would stand in whole. On the reverse I believe the message has been sent.

"The overall law will still take effect Thursday, but without the provisions that angered opponents — including sections that required officers to check a person's immigration status while enforcing other laws.

The judge also put on hold parts of the law that required immigrants to carry their papers at all times, and made it illegal for undocumented workers to solicit employment in public places. "

Interesting. When I'm abroad, I believe every country required that you kept your passport or visa on you at all times.

It just goes to show how F'd up our country is and for all of us who served a slap in the face from our Judicial system what a joke. I am an immigrant and you dont see me complaining as I as well as my entire family lineage have all gone through the entire process to be LEGAL CITIZENS OF THE UNITED MOTHER FN STATES. I am fumigated by their actions. If we even tried pulling this crap in other country's we would be shot on site or never heard of again. Now we are fluctuated with loads of ethnic backrounds and cultural differences that we as a Country cannot even recognize who we are as face falue. No pledge of alliegence, lets not have the american flag, lets not put in GOD we trust on our crumbling crappy fiate system. Now we cant offend a human being for taking total advantage of our system and using our TAX dollars for their well bieng.

Political Correctness has run a muck with this county. Not sure how you fix this. It has pretty much destroyed the country and its values.

Sucks when working hard only gets you more pissed at the people taking advantage.

"Bolton made short-shrift of the provision which makes ita violation of state law for anyone who is a citizen of another country to not have federally required documents. That section, in essence, would allow the state to arrest and hold illegal immigrants for violating Arizona law. < So our local law enforcement can't enforce the Federal law ? notallthere.gif Is there a State law against murder ?>

The judge called that "an impermissible attempt by Arizona to regulate alien registration.''

There was a wise man that once wrote his mind regarding immigration, and I agree wholeheartedly... this memo went out only a couple of days before he died...

"We should insist that if the immigrant who comes here does in good faith become an American and assimilates himself to us he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed or birth-place or origin.
But this is predicated upon the man's becoming in very fact an American and nothing but and American. If he tries to keep segregated with men of his own origin and separated from the rest of America, then he isn't doing his part as an American. There can be no divided allegiance here... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language, for we intend to see that the crucible turns our people out as Americans, of American nationality, and not as dwellers in a polyglot boarding-house; and we have room for but one soul loyalty, and that is loyalty to the American people." -Theodore Roosevelt 1919

It's a shame that we even need to pass these laws beings that it IS the federal governments obligation to ensure the safety of our borders and its citizens. Shame on you, Washington! DO SOMETHING instead of wasting money on superfluous court proceedings.

Lame decision by the judge, she basically just threw it back at the Feds which they won't do anything, so now you have the chicken and egg effect. Who's job is it to protect the country's border...the Feds. When will they start, they won't. AZ wants to change that, they can't...Who's job is it...the Feds. Etc... I think the 9th court will not over turn the decision, but the supreme court will and we will finally win on this issue. The judge has still tied (crippled) the hands of LE even though the law passed.

I have in the last couple weeks applied for a couple of federal jobs, so I will limit what I say in case the background investigators dig this deep.

But I will say that this is an incredible disappointment. I am all for comprehensive immigration reform that makes it easier for good hard working people that want to integrate into American society to do so. But I am baffled to our federal governments absolute refusal to enforce existing laws against illegal immigration. Our government refuses to help solve this problem, and throws unlimited effort into preventing those of us that care from doing something about it.

I absolutely support with my vote ANYONE that will take a hard line on this topic, and I will do everything I can to oust those that put the well being of illegal aliens before the American citizens that they have taken an oath to serve and protect.

What I may lack in horsepower, I make up for in just plain ol' crazy...

Ok, how about we spin it back on the government. Why doesn't Arizona sue the feds for refusal to protect US citizens and our interests. If they can sue us, why can't we sue the. twocents.gif

Good for her. I may just have to vote for her...after I check out the rest of the candidates of course.

I don't have the confidence that the supreme court will reverse this decision that Tom does, especially considering its recent appointees. But I agree that its definately a gimme that the 9th circuit will uphold the decision and it will go to the supreme court. We need to put people in Washington that represent the will of the people and get rid of the career politicians.

I need to do my homework on this guy, but I like what I see so far.
