Awwww! I haven't been to Mt. Lemmon since 1985 when I took my oldest son up for a picnic with my college friend, Carol! Maybe Marco will want to go too... we'll see. It would be a great excuse to FINALLY get my Bum Steer burger!! I miss those UofA days! cheers.gif

K Sean keep me up to date ;) Im a maybe as well....if the map I looked up is right (over 4 hours each way without stops) then I am leaning towards a negative but if its more like 2-3 each way I would consider.

Google Maps cracks me up! Do they really think we're only driving 60 MPH? I used to drive from UofA area to Ahwatukee in less than 1.5 hrs and that was in a 1970 VW Super Beetle, for cryin' out loud! For example, from Ahwatukee to Tucson is 103 miles straight down the I-10 with a slight turn left at Picacho Peak. I always look forward to being able to turn my steering wheel on that trip!! partydance.gif Who here is only planning on driving 60 MPH? At an avg of 80 MPH you can do that 103 miles in less than 1.5 hrs and I KNOW the majority of you will supercede 80 MPH! blink.gif I know that those of you on the West side need an additional 45 minutes to get to I-10 and Elliot. But you can do the math, can't ya?! ohmy.gif Just put the pedal to the metal and DRIVE!!! lol

You'll be about 2 hours each way to teh base of the mountain... Maybe a bit more from way northwest phx. The trip up the mountain typically takes about an hour depending on traffic. And figure an hour or so at teh top having lunch.

Count me out.

Just took the ride today.

Takes just over 3 hours from Goodyear, with a short pit stop.

Cool views and 20 degrees cooler.

Ok, I won't have the C3 done in time for this event I'm afraid since I'm bustin' azz getting other things done before my trip to NM next week for a week and then another trip after that to CA and then this event. So, if someone has an empty seat and wants a passenger, I should be able to go...I think. blink.gif

I was planning on Cabo as I have that week off. BUT maybe I'll go early and cont. the vacation at the Paloma Resort in Tucson. Last year I stayed the weekend there for this run. It was great! Those of you that don't want to make it there and back on the same day should consider spending the weekend. I'll get the first round of drinks!

there's 2 or 3 really good resorts down here. la Paloma is good, but maybe you try another one like the Omni or Ventana... Just an idea...

Kate and I stayed at Paloma last weekend great time. Pool and the service was top notch. And a call to the hotel could get you the $99 a night deal we got....

This one and a couple of the others offer a special deal for government employees, military, retired military (I think), for 88 a night. I stayed there last year also for the run up the mountain, enjoyed their friday night special for dinner, and inspected the bar facility. Also got a close up look at a Tesla and the SIG of the two guys driving it.

After the mountain run, let's eat lunch at El Molinito's at their location at 2323 N Pantano rd. Tucson AZ (520) 885-0055
Plenty of parking and fairly close to the Mountain.

If we don't have lunch at the top, that sounds fine to me...

Depending on how many go, I don't think the Iron Door could accomadate a group larger than 25...it's just not a very big place and the menu is a little limited.

If we even came close to the number of cars as last year (55+), I would highly recommend we don't eat there, as it would overtax the restruant staff smilielol.gif

Either way...

Do you really think we're gonna hit anywhere near 55 cars though? You know something I don't?

I don't think so.....but I had not expected the number we had last year either...we completely overflowed the parking lot at the MsD's that day to say the least smile.gif
We had a lot more time to plan the last one so people could plan accordingly, but you never know thumbsup.gif

From last year, remember...

Ya, I remember that last year had a huge turnout... I was out of town and had to miss it. But as I remember, Hunter was advertising it on multiple forums too....

I'll check with them on that...wouldn't be a bad idea to get a head count in preperation.

Hey,
Last year there was a huge turnout. I saw very few ACE members that normally go on drives.
If we have all that went to the fathers day drive along with those that went last year mt Lemmon run, This even could be
the biggest ever for ACE. ( well, in the past 2 1/2 years Iv'e been a part of ACE)

Last years drive was awesome.

Rob.

I'm sure we will have a few DSC and CF rides with us again this year thumbsup.gif Hard to say how many of the group were ACE members but it was a solid showing. I would hope the ACE Phoenix metro crowd would come out to an event hosted in Tucson in support of the southern AZ crowd yeah.gif
We might even have a Ford GT(40) and a F430 with us this year if they can get back from Colorado in time smile.gif
